Aligning in Crisis: Strategies and Tools to Leverage Federal Funding

View Webinar

State governments, community foundations, and other stakeholders can leverage millions in federal funds and develop cross-sector plans that advance equity, shift power to local communities, and set the stage for positive, long-term change.

On September 14, experts from Aligning in Crisis, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, discussed:

  • Ongoing and new funding opportunities, including a recent $3.9+ billion Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Notice of Funding Opportunity and the second disbursement of American Rescue Plan Act discretionary funds
  • Principles and strategies to guide your planning efforts, including the need for cross-sector, community-led collaboration and support from intermediary organizations
  • Resources that support your work, including a new dashboard that centralizes funding opportunities from legislation, federal department websites, grants.gov, and other sources

Speakers:

  • Jeffrey Levi, PhD, principal investigator of the Funders Forum on Accountable Health project and professor of Health Management and Policy at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University.
  • Karen Minyard, PhD, director of the Georgia Health Policy Center (GHPC) and research professor with the Department of Public Management and Policy at Georgia State University.

The Georgia Health Policy Center, in partnership with the School of Public Health at George Washington University and with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is identifying, synthesizing, and disseminating cross-sector policy and implementation opportunities that facilitate recovery from the triple crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, impacts of the 2020 economic downturn, and the ongoing impact of structural racism. The work – Aligning in Crisis — builds on Aligning Systems for Health: Health Care + Public Health + Social Services.
