Legal Considerations for Data Sharing

View Webinar

This webinar shares lessons learned in navigating legal considerations while establishing cross-sector data sharing partnerships across the nation. This is the second in a three-part webinar series on cross-sector data sharing from the National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs.

Cross-sector data sharing partnerships can help communities address the social factors that negatively impact the health of people with complex health and social needs, and better align systems that serve overlapping populations. Potential partners often shy away from data sharing because of legal or regulatory concerns, and sharing data across sectors means partners are likely to encounter multiple, sometimes competing, regulations. However, there are solutions and it is possible to navigate these considerations and establish successful cross-sector data sharing partnerships.
